Of all the creatures in the sauropod family, Amargasaurus titanicus is likely the most unique in appearance. It sports two parallel rows of dorsal spines down the length of its neck, back, and tail--though the neck spines are significantly longer than the back or tail spines. These spines are a remarkable adaptation, giving Amargasaurus unmatched control of its body temperature. Made even more marvelous by their time on this ARK, their spines store both extreme heat AND extreme cold, effectively allowing Amargasaurus to live comfortably in any environment. Its sails also make it an abnormally capable swimmer, for a sauropod. Unlike most sauropods, Amargasaurus is very prone to violent aggression, attacking most predators (and humans!) on sight. I suspect this behavior developed alongside the dangerous spines it uses as weapons.

  • Highly territorial/aggressive - charges humans/predators on sight
  • Spawns alone or small herds (like Brontosaurus/Diplodocus)
  • Ignores players with Calien Soup (hot) or Fria Curry (cold) until aggression triggered
  • Attacks any creature with Territorial, Aggressive, or highly Aggressive temperament
  • Will chase prey from surprisingly large distances
  • Excellent swimmer - abnormally capable for a sauropod

KO Strategy Drink Calien Soup (hot biomes) or Fria Curry (cold biomes) to sync temp. Approach slowly (hide with Ghillie/Desmodus if needed). Feed Exceptional Kibble or Crops (pref Kibble for 96%+ eff). Let it aggro & kill nearby aggressive dinos (Rex, Carno, etc.) for taming progress. Keep Amarga health above 80% (feed Sweet Veggie Cake). Repeat until tamed. Pro tip: Build simple stone trap, lure with head out, sync + hunt fodder inside.

  • Fire Wyvern immune to Heat Spikes, but Ice Wyvern is NOT immune to Cold Spikes

  • Only creature that can be affected by Net Projectile among Sauropods
