Dossier

Wild

Ankylosaurus crassacutis is a heavily-armored herbivore that wanders the island in search of the vegetation it needs to sustain its massive body. While generally peaceful, its powerful tail club can shatter bones with a single strike. Its armored plates make it nearly impervious to attacks from smaller predators.

Domesticated

Tamed Ankylosaurus make excellent mounts for resource gathering. Their unique ability to harvest metal, crystal, and other valuable ores with incredible efficiency makes them indispensable. The tail club provides decent defense, and their high health pool allows them to serve as effective mobile shields.

  • Can harvest rich metal nodes automatically while being carried by Argentavis
  • On Aberration, Aberrant Ankylosaurus needs Mushroom Brew every 120 seconds in irradiated areas
  • Real-world Ankylosaurus had smoother armor; ARK version more closely resembles Euoplocephalus
  • Skull resembles Tarchia rather than actual Ankylosaurus
  • Despite armor appearance, has no ability to reduce projectile damage
  • Bite attack is faster than tail swing attack
  • Two different tail attack animations with varying hitboxes
