Overview

The Basilisk is a large, carnivorous fantasy reptile known for its ability to burrow underground to ambush its enemies, as well as spit projectiles that explode into a toxic gas upon making contact. It was first added in ARK: Survival Evolved with the Aberration expansion pack.

Domesticated

Miraculously, survivors have not only managed to tame Serpens regulus, but ride it. Some can even stay seated while it lies in wait belowground, though I doubt it

Behavior

  • Waits hidden underground with only its 3-forked tail visible above ground
  • Burrows for days patiently waiting for prey to approach before ambushing
  • Attacks with both venomous bites and poisonous spit blasts similar to Poison Wyvern
  • After killing prey, quickly digs back into the ground to wait again
  • Spawns at uncommon rates in The Portal and rarely in The Edge areas of Aberration

KO Strategy The Basilisk is immune to torpor - it cannot be knocked out traditionally. It must be tamed passively using fertilized eggs.
Food After Taming Fertilized Rock Drake Egg, Fertilized Magmasaur Egg, Fertilized Wyvern Egg, Fertilized Voidwyrm Egg. Taming requires dropping fertilized eggs on the ground near the Basilisk while it is not burrowed.
