Overview

The Onyc (also known as the Bat) is a flying mammal found in caves across the ARK. Using echolocation to navigate dark caverns, these aggressive omnivores feed on mushrooms, moss, and small prey. While not rideable, they make excellent cave guards due to their aggressive nature and 30% special loot chance. They are immune to torpor and must be tamed passively using Bug Repellant.

Not large enough to be used as mounts, and not strong enough to carry much, Onychonycteris still function well as a guard animal. Whether protecting a vacant home or members of a tribe, their relatively vicious nature has its uses.
