Overview

The Brontosaurus (also called Bronto) is a massive sauropod dinosaur in ARK: Survival Evolved. One of the largest creatures in the game, it is known for its enormous size, high weight capacity, and ability to equip a platform saddle. It is a docile herbivore that makes an excellent pack animal for transporting large quantities of resources.

Domesticated

Because of how docile it is, the Brontosaurus makes for an ideal pack animal. Peaceful tribes use it to carry incredible quantities of resources, while warring tribes use it to mobilize their army. Its size and strength make it one of the unique creatures on the Island that can support a platform saddle. Unfortunately, its enormity means that the process of taming a Brontosaurus can take a very long time.

Behavior

  • Docile temperament - generally ignores other creatures
  • Found alone or in small groups browsing at heights above smaller herbivores
  • Primary attack is a powerful tail swipe with long reach
  • Can also deal damage by stepping on creatures
  • Very high health pool makes it difficult to kill
  • Rarely targeted by wild carnivores due to size
