Meganeura
Creature Guide
InvertebratesOverview
The Meganeura is a large, dragonfly-like invertebrate in ARK: Survival Evolved. Resembling an oversized griffinfly from the Carboniferous period, these creatures are found primarily in swamps and jungles. While normally neutral, they are scavengers that will swarm corpses and become aggressive if disturbed while feeding. They are NOT tameable in any version of ARK.
Dossier
Wild
Meganeura quatpenna is an especially large species of dragonfly. Like most dragonflies, Meganeura is carnivorous, but it is typically not aggressive towards humans unless provoked or challenged for food. It lives primarily in the wetter, heavily wooded areas, such as the jungles. Meganeura is a natural predator of most of the smaller insects on the island.
Domesticated
The size of the insects on the island confounds me. The way these creatures diffuse oxygen should limit their size but Meganeura seem to be able to advance beyond this restraint.
