Overview

The Troodon is a small, highly intelligent carnivorous dinosaur native to the islands and various biomes. Known for its exceptional learning ability and pack-hunting tactics, Troodon magnanimus is one of the most dangerous small predators in ARK. It features large eyes adapted for night vision, a feathered coat, and venomous serrated fangs that can paralyze humans while draining stamina from creatures. Unlike other dinosaurs, Troodon uses a unique social taming approach where it must earn combat experience by hunting tamed creatures to gain loyalty. Active primarily at dawn and dusk, these nocturnal hunters pack-bond and teach their young, making them increasingly dangerous in groups. Their venom is particularly deadly to human survivors, causing paralysis that leaves victims completely helpless. Troodon is unique as the only creature that can be ridden indoors and in caves, making it an invaluable reconnaissance mount despite its small size.

Dossier

Wild

Troodon magnanimus is quite possibly the most intelligent non-human creature on the Island. It understands meaningful experiences much faster than other creatures including humans, and its social nature means it also teaches its packmates, making them smarter too. If Troodon
