The Magmasaur (also known as Cherufe) is a fire-based creature from ARK: Genesis Part 1. It gains strength and charges attacks through heat, has an affinity for lava (can swim in it), and dislikes water. Adults cannot be tamed - you must steal and hatch their eggs. It acts as a mobile forge, can smelt metal, and fires devastating Searing Spit attacks. Excellent for metal farming, base destruction, and as a tank against the Dragon boss.

The Magmasaur is a fire-based creature that gains strength and charges up attacks through heat. It has an affinity for lava to the point of swimming in it, and dislikes water. The Magmasaur will consume many different materials including gasoline, stone, raw and cooked meats, organic polymer, and ambergris. It can act as a mobile forge and refine/smelt the same materials as a Refining Forge.
Domesticated
Magmasaurs make excellent mounts for the volcanic biome. Their heat-resistant saddle protects from heat, fire, and lava. They can smelt metal on the go, gather resources efficiently, and fire powerful searing spit attacks. However, cold temperatures and water negatively affect their abilities.
Behavior
- Territorial - will attack intruders on sight
- Gains strength through heat - more powerful in volcano biome
- Searing Spit can destroy wood, stone, and metal structures
- Has shotgun-style attack that causes burn damage and torpor
- Immune to lava damage
- Dislikes water - swimming disables fire attacks
- Will eat various materials including gasoline and stone

- Egg max level is 150 (same as Deinonychus)
- Searing Spit now consumes 1 Metal Ingot per hit when charged
- Second creature directly affected by environment (temperature)
- First was Spinosaurus (stronger in water)
- Rage effect lasts 15 seconds
- Cannot be picked up by Argentavis or Karkinos
- Baby food consumption: 720 food per hour
- Can harvest Obsidian and Crystal at high amounts
